Weird things that happened at the Tidal launch

Yesterday, The Roc Nation mogul officially announced the launch of TIDAL, the first-ever artist-owned global music entertainment platform, during a star-studded press conference in New York on Monday. The world’s most famous musicians like Jay Z, Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj & Usher united to launch Tidal. Each is considered a founding member and has an equity stake in the streaming company. They all said #TidalForAll and it was really strange – here’s a look back at the weirdest scenes of the day.

Kanye West Ditches Longtime Music Agent

Kanye West has fired his longtime music agent and is turning over his business from Creative Artist Agency to United Talent Agency, it’s been reported. ‘Ye’s longtime music agent, Cara Lewis, has represented the rapper at her current position at CAA and before that at William Morris Endeavor. The rapper followed Lewis from WME to CAA and even tweeted his support at the time. It’s unclear if there was any problems with Lewis’ work, herself one of the biggest agents in the music industry, or if it was a matter of West wanting to branch out as his own creative endeavors are expanding to include much more than just music.

Currently, ‘Ye works with Live Nation on touring stemming from a deal he signed with the concert behomoth. And he’s managed by Roc Nation and signed to Def Jam Recordings as an artist. In addition to his upcoming So Help Me God LP, he has a clothing line and sneaker deal with Adidas that saw him release a collection earlier this year.
